The Archbishop Hannan Hustle basketball tournament featuring boys and girls action concludes today. The Hannan Hawks’ boys squad turned back Mt. Hermon 57-47 yesterday behind a balanced scoring attack with three players in double figures led by Noah Griffin with 16 points followed by Nick Daniel and Brooks Murrel with 11 points each. Ross Murray contributed eight points. The Hawks (9-5) advance to today’s championship game facing off with the Pine Raiders. The boys championship game is set for 5 o’clock today. Hannan defeated Bogalusa 67-49 in their opening game Saturday of the Hannan Hustle tourney sparked by Noah Griffin’s 20 points. Patrick Bosetta finished with 11 points followed by Ross Murray with 10.
In girls’ action in the Hannan Hustle Tournament, the Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs squares off with French Settlement in the championship game. The championship tilt is set for 3:30 this afternoon. Archbishop Hannan’s Lady Hawks were downed by French Settlement yesterday 46-26. The Lady Hawks (10-4) were led by Riley Roberts with seven points. The Lady Hawks square off with the Pine Lady Raiders this afternoon in the third place consolation game set to tip off at 2 o’clock. Archbishop Hannan topped Pearl River 40-32 in their opening game of their tournament sparked by Rachael LePere’s 11 points. LePere also pulled down five rebounds with four assists and three steals. Mallory Kramer added nine points and three steals. Kennedy Martin added eight points and four rebounds, while Miranda Kramer chipped in with eight points, five steals and four rebounds. Julia Fecke contributed six points and came through with five blocks.
