The Mandeville Skippers soccer team is off and rolling this season. The Skippers 13-1-2 opened their district schedule Friday night at Sidney Theriot Stadium blanking the Fontainebleau Bulldogs 5-0 sparked by Devan Pathomthong’s hat trick. Mandeville’s Parker Pastorello and Collin Ludwig netted one goal each. Pathomthong tallied his first goal in the 20th minute and Pastorello made it 2-0 in the 36th minute assisted by Pathemthong for a Skippers’ 2-0 halftime advantage. Pathomthong put the Skippers up 3-0 netting his second goal in the 62nd minute beating a defender and then the keeper. Pathomthong capped off his hat trick, finishing his third goal in the 67th minute assisted by Pastorello. Ludwig closed out the Mandeville scoring with only a couple minutes left
Mandeville starting keeper Spencer Hollander and Dylan Biscoff shared time in net to combine for the shut out. Fontainebleau slipped to 4-6 overall with keeper John Scholvin being credited with nine saves and the Bulldogs named midfielder Seth Homes their top defender. Mandeville will face a big early district challenge tonight taking on the unbeaten St. Paul’s Wolves at Hunter Stadium. The match gets underway at seven o’clock. St. Paul’s is unbeaten at 19-0-2 and opened district play last Thursday blanking Hammond 3-0, playing without their seniors, who were taking part in a religious retreat.
