The Salmen Lady Spartans sent a message to their opponents competing in the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic over the weekend. Salmen senior Kalani Brown was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament as she delivered 23 points with 14 rebounds as the Lady Spartans handed Warren Easton its first season defeat 56-44. Brown and her teammates repeated as the champions of the Classic and the talented center came home to Slidell with her second consecutive MVP award. Salmen’s Tierra Warren collected six points and joined Brown on the all-tournament team. Salmen improved to 14-3 and also beat previously unbeaten Karr last week in the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic en route to its second straight title.
