The Northlake Christian School Wolverines soccer teams kept their winning ways alive yesterday picking up two more key district victories. Both clubs coached by Nick Chetta are excelling this season. The Wolverines rolled past Archbishop Hannan 8-1 behind Mason Cook’s outstanding performance with four goals. Cook has blistered the nets for 23 goals this season. Clayton Gill tallied twice and the Wolverines had individual goals from Nathan Pearl and Joe Mackenzie to cap off the scoring. Richard Humphrey was named the Wolverines’ top defender and Dom Vega posted the victory in goal. NCS (13-1-6) remained unbeaten in district moving to an impressive 7-0. The NCS Lady Wolverines also took care of business blanking their district rival Archbishop Hannan Lady Hawks 1-0. NCS’ Kate White netted the game-winner assisted by Bethany Acosta. Coach Chetta named Sophie Wall the top defender and keeper Lexi White fashioned the shut out. The NCS Lady Wolverines (12-2-4) moved to 6-0-1 in the district race.
