Eades Named to Watch List for Johnny Bench Award
Southestern Louisiana Unversity’s Chris Eades is one of 75 catchers from across the nation named to the Watch List for the 2015 Johnny Bench Award to e presented by Baseball Savngs. Eades, a Northshore High grad, and former Class 5A state champion with the Panthers in 2009, has appeared in eight games for the Lions and is hitting .320 with three runs batted in and has thrown out both runners attempting to steal.
Eades an All-Miss-Lou Conference selection at Delgado Community College last season helped lead the Dolphins to the 2014 Junior College World Series.
Eades, a junior from Slidell, is the son of Northshore Lady Panthers’ longtime head softball coach Marian Eades. Chris is the younger brotherof Ryan Eades, also a Northshore High grad, and LSU star, who is currently participating in spring training with the Minnesota Twins, and doing well according to his mom, coach Eades.
LSU senior catcher Kade Scivicque and Tulane sophomore catcher Jake Rogers are also on the Watch List. Each catcher named to the list was nominated for the award by their coaches.
