Former Northlake Christian School star Dane Landry, who now attends the University of New Orleans, is a member of the Privateers’ baseball team. Landry, a sophomore, ripped his first collegiate homer in a 5-4 loss to Lamar in the opening game of a double header Saturday.
Landry, a multiple sport athlete, who also starred in football and basketball with the NCS Wolverines, ripped a two-run blast to right field on a 2-1 pitch. Landry, the designated hitter, went 2-for-3 with a walk. Landry is hitting .300, going 3-for-10. Landry has started two games and appeared in 11 thus far this season. Landry is a mechanical engineering major. Dane is the son of Jay and Karen Landry of Mandeville. The Privateers (8-15) host Loyola tonight with a 6:30 first pitch.
