The St. Scholastica Academy Doves bowling team competed in the Regional Round of the Playoffs held at All-Star Lanes in Kenner earlier this week. The Doves were successful defeating Chalmette 26-1 and Academy of Our Lady 19-8 to advance to the Bi-Regional s scheduled for Tuesday Mar. 31 in Baton Rouge. SSA’s Sara Breaux rolled a high-series of 493 with games of 157, 149 and 187 to help spark the Doves as they advance in the playoffs. SSA’s Lauren Schneida came through with a high-game of 205. while Meghan Kreeger added a 198 and Megan Bounds rolled a 179 for the Doves.
The All-District Teams Baton Rouge Division 3 have been announced. SSA dominated the First Team with four bowlers being recognized. The Doves’ Megan Bounds was named the MVP. Bounds posted the league’s high average with a 165. Her high-series was a 552 and she rolled a high-game of 231. Joining Bounds on the First Team were teammates Meghan Kreeger, 163 average with a high-game of 205 to go with a high-series of 541. Sara Beaux averaged 161 with a high-game of 204. Breaux also rolled a high-series of 604. Teammate Lauren Schneida was the fourth Doves’ bowler namned to the First Team. Schneida posted a 156 average with a high-game of 201 and a 528 series.
Albany rounded out the First Team with Maria Sanchez and Banner Hammons being selected. The Second Team included SSA’s Lindsay Whipperling along with St. Thomas Aquinas’ Catherine McRae, Albany’s Alaina Blahut and Allie Stewart. Holden’s Michelle Allison and Mallory Bertone were also named to the Second Team.
