In District 6-5A softball action Saturday, the Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs edged the Mandeville Lady Skippers 8-7 on the road. Fontainebleau’s Savannah Folse went the distance for the victory improving to 10-3. Folse scattered 10 hits, posting nine strikeouts with four walks. Folse also picked up a hit and drove in two runs to aid her own cause. Caroline Randazzo ripped a solo homer for the Lady Dawgs. Alex Fremin went 2-for-3 and knocked in two runs, while Haley Fremin added a hit and scored twice. Mandeville’s Annagrace Magee homered for the Lady Skippers, collecting two hits, driving in three runs and scoring once.
Fontainebleau (12-5) moved to 6-2 in the district race. Fontainebleau blanked the Hammond Lady Tornadoes 7-0 in Friday’s district contest sparked by Brenae Bergeron, who evened her record at 2-2. Bergeron also went 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored twice. Haley Fremin delivered two hits and tallied twice for the Lady Bulldogs.
