The Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs, District 6-5A tri-district champions with Northshore and Ponchatoula, played a tuneup game Saturday afternoon trimming Dominican 2-1 behind a superb pitching effort from senior hurler Savannah Folse playing her final regular season game at the Bone Yard. Folse, who will be attending Spring Hill, tossed a complete-game six-hitter, posting two strikeouts with two walks as she improved to 14-4 on the season. With the game tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Bulldogs (16-6) tallied the go-ahead and winning run on a pair of hits. Brenae Bergeron came through for the Lady Dawgs with a one out single followed by Folse’s base hit. Freshman Megan Penny was walked to load the bases. Fontainebleau’s Caroline Randazzo ripped the game-winning RBI single into right field to cap off the scoring. The Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs recognized their two seniors Savannah Folse and Alivia Soto, the Fontainebleau battery mates and their parents prior to Saturday’s game. Weather permitting, the Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play at Northlake Christian School this afternoon at 4:30 and will close out the regular season with away game at Chalmette Wednesday afternoon at 5 o’clock. The Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs softball team will be appearing with me this Thursday night on Northshore Sports, airing from Mellow Mushroom. This Thursday’s show airs from 7-8.
