The LHSAA softball playoff brackets are scheduled to be released today around noon time with a number of St. Tammany Parish clubs awaiting their fate to see if they are in that number to advance. In the usually tough District 6-5A, the Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs earned their sixth straight district crown, finishing as tri-district champs with the Northshore Lady Panthers and the Ponchatoula Lady Green Wave all recording 9-3 district marks. The Lady Dawgs (17-6) managed to get in a tune-up game yesterday, rolling past Chalmette 13-2 on the road. Fontainebleau’s Brittany Freeman and Caroline Randazzo homered to spark the attack. Freeman knocked in six runs, while Randazzo plated three.
Fontainebleau senior Savannah Folse hurled a complete-game three-hitter, moving to 15-5. The Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs along with head coach Chris Nelson will be joining me tonight on Northshore Sports, airing from 7-8, originating Mellow Mushroom here in Covington.
Good luck to all of our St. Tammany Parish softball teams, who are hoping for the best once the LHSAA playoff brackets are released later today.
