Archbishop Hannan’s Lady Hawks, the No. 4 seed made easy work of No. 29 Lakeside, securing a 10-0 five-inning home victory in the opening round of the LHSAA state softball playoffs. The Lady Hawks (24-6) advance and will host No. 13 seed Kinder on Saturday. Kinder trimmed No. 20 Mamou 4-0 to advance. The Lady Hawks received timely hitting with Lindsey Osbon and Sydney Williams going 3-for-3. Williams drove home two runs and scored twice, while Osbon knocked in a run and tallied once also drawing a walk. Kennedy Martin delivered two hits, knocked in two runs and scored twice. Caitlin Collins and Lauren Wegener also produced hits and knocked in a run for the Lady Hawks, while Shaye Tredinich doubled hitting the bottom of the fence. Tredinich leads the Lady Hawks with five homers on the season. Hannan’s Jensen Volz hurled a complete-game two hitter, posting two strikeouts without any walks, improving to 9-2. The Lady Hawks recognized their three seniors Caitlin Collins, Katie Lauga and Bailey Tuminello and their parents prior to the start of yesterday’s opening round contest.
