Top ranked LSU baseball downed Alcorn State 6-1 last night at The Box giving the Tigers their seventh consecutive victory over the Braves with seven Tiger hurlers combining on a two-hitter, registering 12 strikeouts with just two walks. Doug Norman (3-1) earned the victory, pitching a scoreless fourth inning, posting two K’s. LSU upped its record to 38-7, while Alcorn State slipped to 11-37. LSU 14-6 in the SEC returns to conference play Thursday traveling to Starkville, squaring off with the Bulldogs. LSU’s Danny Zardon knocked in three runs and shortstop Alex Bregman collected a double in the fourth, reaching base safely in his 42nd consecutive game and stretched his hitting streak to 10 games.
