Tulane Green Wave baseball slipped past the Southeastern Lions 5-4 last night on Tyler Wilson’s two-out, two-strike, two-run walk-off pinch homer in the 10th inning to secure the victory at Turchin Stadium. Tulane (28-16) swept the three game series for the first time since 2012. Southeastern (33-13) battled late to force extra innings. The Lions Jacob Seward, who was named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week on Monday, broke the Southeastern hitting-streak record. Seward chopped an infield single to short with two outs in the third, extending his hitting streak to 23 games bypassing former record holder Gavin Fingleson. Kennon Menard went 3-for-5 for the Lions. Southeastern, the defending Southland Conference Tournament champs, open up a three-game series with Lamar Friday May 1, needing one more victory to clinch a spot in this year’s tourney. It would be the Lions’ eighth straight season competing.
