Northlake Christian School Wolverines second-year head baseball coach Chad Catalano has resigned from his position. Catalano’s Wolverines made a quarterfinal appearance in the Class 2A state baseball playoffs, the first time NCS baseball has reached that spot since 2010. The Wolverines, the No. 6 seed came up short, falling to No. 3 Oak Grove 13-3 in six innings Saturday on the road. NCS finished the year at 23-11 and Catalano posted a 41-26 mark in his two seasons with the Wolverines. Last year the Wolverines made it to the regional round. Wolverines’ athletic director Tony Agresta said there is no timetable on naming Catalano’s replacement, but he wished his former head coach good luck. Agresta said Catalano handled himself with class during his time at NCS. “We thank him for his time leading our team and our program.”
