In the Class 2A baseball playoffs, the No. 6 seed Northlake Christian School Wolverines bowed out of the playoffs falling to No. 3 seed Oak Grove 13-3 in six innings on the road Saturday. NCS finished the year 23-11 making it to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2010. NCS second-year coach Chad Catalano said he was very proud of his Wolverines. “There’s a lot to be proud of with this special group. Oak Grove’s offense came out and applied a lot of pressure on our defense, scoring in all six innings.” Catalano said his guys battled and had a great season as the guys accomplished two of their three goals for the season. “Those goals to win 20 games, get back to the quarterfinals and win a state championship.” Oak Grove advances to the semifinals in Sulphur and takes on No. 2 Runnels.
