“This is a great opportunity to have a good time and exercise for an important cause. As someone who is serving on the Michael J. Fox Foundation Patient Council, I have seen first hand the advancements that are being made and just how close we are to kicking Parkinson’s Disease. That’s why your participation is so important,” said Quentin Dastugue, co-founder of the local grass roots Team Fox supporting the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Last year’s event collected over $300,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s Parkinson’s research, placing them among the top three Team Fox in the nation. In fact, Michael J. Fox produced a short video acknowledging Kickin’ Parkinson’s, which can be viewed at www.kickinparkinsons.com.

Dastugue was recently invited to join the Michael J. Fox Foundation 25-member Patient Council, which meets twice per year to learn about the most recent research developments directly from the scientists and doctors.  News from the Patient Council is then shared with Louisiana’s local Parkinson’s community via www.kickinparkinsons.com and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/kickinparkinsons.

A local Team Fox of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Kickin’ Parkinson’s was co-founded by Quentin Dastugue, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s six years ago.  Kickin’ Parkinson’s is committed to raising awareness and finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. To date, the local team has raised over $500,000 for the race to a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Over 50,000 people are diagnosed with Parkinson’s annually.
