Covington Police Ride Home Program
The following is a press release from the Covington Police Department…take advantage of this if you need to!!!!
Covington Police Announce Holiday Ride Home Program
Chief Tim Lentz announces that the Covington Police Department will be offering a ride-home program this holiday season. Patrons of our local businesses that do not have a safe and sober ride can call the Covington Police Department and have an officer bring them home.
“We want people to be able to come to Covington and have a good time, but we also want them to have a safe ride home. Our number one priority is to protect the innocent. If we can prevent someone from getting behind the wheel when they shouldn’t, we have achieved our goal.” Chief Lentz said.
This program is being offered free of charge to anyone needing a ride home, within a reasonable distance, from businesses inside the city limits during the holiday season. To get a ride home, please call the Covington Police Department at (985) 892-8500 and an officer will be sent to your location.
