Here’s some of the things we want to share with you:

Rainfall totals in the triangle between Hammond, Kentwood and Bogalusa may end up anywhere between 7 and 14 inches.

LA 437 is closed due to high water near the Washington/Tammany parish line. Expected to be closed for a few days.

Red Cross Shelters: In Tangipahoa – Loranger High 19404 Hiatt Road & Natalbany Elementary 47370 N. Morrison Blvd; Franklinton High School: 1 Demon Circle,& Elizabeth Sullivan University Methodist Church: 510 Avenue B, Bogalusa

The weather is the news this morning. Rescue operations took place last night in Hammond with authorities bringing as many as 130 people out of their homes due to high water just off wardline road. Meanwhile the police chief in Bogalusa is reporting that many roads in his city are now closed due to high water. In Franklinton the fairgrounds are flooding and officials say citizens need to stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to move about. Remember, if you encounter a road with high water, turn around, don’t drown.

If you can safely send us images of high water, do so on Facebook here LAKE FACEBOOK, or on Twitter here LAKE TWITTER and include where you are so we can report it. Thanks!
