Today we had Sheriff Randy Smith in the studios. He spoke about their efforts as the kids went back to school and gave us an update on the deputies working our local highways in that new unit. Randy also spoke about a group of deputies helping with Harvey. That information is below.


Some of our St. Tammany Parish Sheriffs Office employees are part of Team Cajun Invasion. They are collecting relief items to be delivered to the flood victims in Texas.

They have asked for the following items:

• Cleaning items

• Hand sanitizer

• Baby wipes

• Diapers

• Work gloves

• Heavy duty garbage bags

• First aid items

• Toiletries

• New bed sheets

• New towels

• Soap

Donations can be brought to Justice Center in Downtown Covington, to our Administrative Office on Brownswitch in Slidell or to our Training Center in Pearl River. Drop off times are Monday thru Friday 8-4:30. After hours, donations can be left on the porch of the Law Office of Spell and Spell (1225 N. Columbia Street, Covington).
