Here’s some info on local resources and what’s being done here on the Northshore as of 11 AM this morning.
Due to the threat of Hurricane Nate, the St. Tammany Fishing Pier, Camp Salmen Nature Park, the Tammany Trace, and Kids Konnection Playground, will close on Saturday, October 7th, at 2 p.m. and remain closed all day Sunday, October 8th. STAR Transit will have no service on Saturday, October 7th and Sunday October 8th. The Make A House Your Home Event scheduled for Saturday, October 7th in Slidell at the Towers Building from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. is cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
The St Tammany Parish Fair will close at 5 today, or even earlier if the weather gets worse.

Sandbags will be distributed today from October 7, 2017 from 7a.m. – 2p.m. at the following locations:
St. Tammany Parish Government- Building C

St. Tammany Parish Public Works- Airport Road Barn
34783 Grantham College Rd., Slidell
St. Tammany Parish Public Works- Fritchie Barn
63119 Highway 1090 in Pearl River
St. Tammany Parish Public Works Barn- Keller Barn
63131 Fish Hatchery Road, Lacombe
City of Slidell sandbag stations will be open today until 2 p.m. at the following locations:
– Lee Street
– The tennis courts at Second Street and Cleveland Avenue in Olde Towne Slidell
– The parking lot on the corner of Rue Rochelle and Independence Drive near the park
– John Slidell Park in the parking area near the playground
If needed, hours will be extended past 2 p.m. but will shut down if rain and wind conditions become severe.
